Macclesfield Canal - part of the Cheshire Ring

The Macclesfield begins by meeting new friends, BCF members Roy and Audrey. What a colourful couple living by the Canal after spending a large part of their lives living on ‘Rosie’ in France and the UK.

The Bosley locks had 12 in a row, lifting us 110ft. We were hoping to see some volunteers it they only surfaced for the last couple.

Sunday we worshipped at the Macclesfield Baptist where we were warmly welcomed. The guitarist said his wife was from Melbourne, when we talked with her we found that Beth new her family and had just met up with her mother again last year at Lakes Entrance Baps. We enjoyed lunch together.

Lyme Park Manor was over 3000 acres it was reduced to 1400 in the 1900’s to pay for improvements. It is now run by the National Trust. We did a behind the scenes tour, we decided life is better these days. It’s good to see how the other half lived.
