A Day in Nantwich 28th March 2019

Today we have had a lay-day to catch up with some computer work and have a look around town. Here are some of the photos from today. Its had these days when its so easy to take photos then you end up with soooo many.

At the Book Shop Coffee lounge we sat in the window and enjoyed morning tea. This is a family business, we were able to talk to two of the daughters who were delighted to share with us. We were allow to go up to the third floor where they still had the remains of Santa's Grotto, we were facinated then to explore a little further where all the old trusses, braces etc with their hand made wooden nails etc.

This Church was around the 1400's, two of the men spent time with us sharing some of their knowledge.

As quiet as a Church Mouse, each chair had a mouse carved on one leg.

These two extra large tapestries were done for the Queens Corination

The alabaster soldier had his legs broken off to be ground to a paste, it was very expensive.

Its amazing what you find in an old country museum

To finish the day we found this traditional Lollie Shop, we didn't want to buy anything as we are trying not to eat between meals which is really challenging but the lady gave us some licorice blocks, Yum.
