We read about Hadar and Keith with his set up Train Set on his working narrowboat. As we travelled around the English Canal system we were hoping to catch up with them somewhere. After leaving a couple of messages on their Blog we weren't able to see any answers of their movements. Friday morning it was cold and miserable so I (Beth) stayed in the cabin while Lindsay braved the elements, after awhile thought I should see how he was getting on and making sure we were going the right way. There it was - we were just going past - STOP, back up and knock on their door and ask if it would be too much trouble to come and have a look. Well we spent the most wonderful hour or so sharing with this lovely couple about their journey and Keiths love of his train set, with villages, farm yard and now adding a canal system. Each building, tree or whatever is hand made and painted. This is a love he has had since a boy, you should see the prize engines, made by Keith, in a glass cabinet as they are a larger guage not suitable for a narrowboat. These photos don't do justice to our experience but want to share it with you.
Jo loves being a homemaker on the narrowboat, knitting, crocheting, cooking and supporting Keith. Her passion is making blankets for the Border Collie Trust of GB.
We caught up with them a few times over the weekend as we were looking around the Living Museum which is one of their favourite places to visit and catch up with friends while also treating themselves to the delicious Fish and Chips with Tailings (those crispy bits of batter after cooking the fish) all cooked traditionally in dripping. You will see our Fish and Chips in the Museum Post
Hi to you both. It was absolutely wonderful to meet you both and show you the railway. Happy cruising xxxxx
